When you’re a student and teacher, you can get Amazon Prime for 50% off. I love that! I find money saving deals on teaching and student supplies all the time, so it’s really helpful to have.
It’s SUPER simple to get a student discount through Amazon Prime. In fact, if you’re a teacher, you can also utilize the student discount on Amazon Prime if you’re working toward an advanced degree and have an edu email address.

How to get a discount on Amazon Prime if you’re receiving Government Assistance
Amazon has started offering a discount to people who receive benefits like Medicaid or Food Stamps for Amazon Prime. This enables families to take advantage of the good deals and sales you can often find on Amazon without having to pay extra for shipping etc.
The benefits do have to be active currently, they will confirm your eligibility before allowing you to sign up. You are able to sign up for up to 48 months this way, with a check for eligibility every 12 months.
This plan charges you monthly at $5.99/month so you don’t have to come up with a big lump sum all at once. It doesn’t include household sharing benefits, but otherwise is the same Prime membership.

How can I get Amazon Prime for free?
The easiest way to get Amazon Prime for free, is to use the free 30 day trial they have available on their website. It’s only available to new users, so if you have an existing account it won’t work.
Keep in mind that after the trial period is over, you will be charged, so set an alarm on your phone to remind you to cancel if you don’t want to pay. If you’re like me, you will get the free trial, and realize just how helpful Amazon Prime is and decide to keep it.

Is Amazon Prime worth it?
In my opinion, yes! My family has used Amazon Prime for years and it’s been really helpful. I’m able to get presents for my kids at awesome prices, even if I can’t leave the house (or don’t want to) and have it at my door, sometimes in a day.
We also utilize Prime Music and Prime Video and so do our kids, and LOVE the huge selection there that we can’t find anywhere else.
Most of the DIY supplies I use for my posts here on this site are made using things I find on Amazon. It saves me hours of driving from store to store to see if they have what I need.
