DIY Easter Deco Mesh Wreath

This DIY Easter Deco Mesh Wreath is the perfect way to make your front door ready for the holidays! It’s a super simple mesh wreath tutorial and anyone can make it!

DIY wreaths are one of my favorite things to make. Not only do they make a dramatic entrance to greet guests on your front door, but they save you a TON of money to make your own instead of buying them.

Mesh wreaths are not difficult to make, and I enjoy making them and how they turn out!

There are several methods for making a mesh wreath, but this time I will show you a tutorial on how to make a pinch and curl method wreath!

How do you make this Deco Mesh Easter Wreath?

Step 1: Gather your supplies.

You will need:

• 10″ Deco Mesh Wreath in Easter Colors (I used seven different colors)
• 2″ Wired Ribbon
• Wire Wreath Form
• Pipe Cleaners
• Foam Easter Eggs (Large and Mini)
• Rotary Cutter
• Cutting Mat

Step 2: Prepare your wreath form.

Preparing your wreath form is super easy. You can buy these pre-prepped, but it’s just as easy (and cheaper) to do this step yourself.

Twist a row of pipe cleaners onto the wreath form like shown above alone the outside, and another row along the inside. I space mine out to cover as much of the wreath form as possible.

Step 3: Cut out your deco mesh.

I use a 10″ mesh for these (and most of my mesh wreaths) and love the fullness of it. I get most of my mesh on Amazon and at Hobby Lobby, but you can find 6″ mesh at the dollar store.

You will need to cut at least three pieces of mesh for each pipe cleaner on your wreath form, so use that to decide how many to cut.

Cut your mesh to a length of 10″ for each piece using a rotary cutter and mat. Using scissors for this will drive you crazy and cause excess fraying.

They will naturally roll as you cut them, as shown above, and you want that to happen. Set them aside until you have all the colors cut.

Step 4: Attach the mesh to the Easter wreath.

Attaching the mesh is super simple for this style of deco mesh wreath DIY.

Roll a piece of the mesh, pinch the middle in your fingers, and then twist the pipe cleaner to attach it to the wreath as shown above.

Alternate the colors to give yourself a good mix, and this is what it will look like after attaching one roll to each pipe cleaner.

Attach another roll on top of the first by rolling, pinching, and twisting like you did the first rolls.

The above picture is what it looks like when you’ve got two rolls on every pipe cleaner.

Continue this method to add a third roll to each pipe cleaner to achieve the fullness you want from a mesh wreath.

Pro Tip: Alternate the direction your rolls face when attaching them to make your wreath even more full.

Step 5: Trim the pipe cleaners.

When you’re done attaching all your deco mesh rolls to your wreath, you will still have a lot of excess pipe cleaner length left. Use an old pair of scissors, or wire cutter to trim them short.

Bend the small length of pipe cleaner left after cutting down into the wreath to make sure it stays put. It should look like the above picture when you’re finished.

Step 6: Attach the eggs to the wreath.

Use a hot glue gun to attach foam eggs in varying sizes and colors to the wreath. I used the eggs to fill in spaces and to help give another pop of color.

Step 7: Add a bow to your wreath.

I used three yards of wired 2″ ribbon to make a big bow, and used another pipe cleaner to attach it to the wire wreath frame.
